Weekly Product Update — 1 April 2026: Xero Enhancements, New Reports & Platform Fixes

MedicalMet delivers continuous improvements to your clinic management software every week. The 1 April 2026 release includes a refined Xero accounting integration, four new reporting capabilities, a streamlined appointment creation flow, and targeted bug fixes across multiple modules. Here is everything that shipped this week.

What Changed in the Xero Integration?

For clinics that rely on Xero for their accounting workflows, this update introduces two backend improvements that make the integration faster and more accurate:

  • Consolidated account data retrieval — all account data is now fetched in a single API call, replacing multiple sequential requests. This reduces sync latency and improves reliability during high-volume billing periods.
  • Bank account type support — the payment account endpoint now returns bank account types, giving your accounting team clearer visibility into how payments are categorised when they land in Xero.

These are backend optimisations — no configuration changes are needed on your end. If your clinic uses the MedicalMet–Xero integration, the improvements are already active.

What New Reports Are Available?

The Reports module now includes four additions that give clinic owners deeper financial and operational insight:

  • Product Gross Profit Report — track gross profit margins across your product catalogue. Identify which items contribute most to your bottom line and make data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Patient Cases Report — view and analyse patient case data across your practice, with filtering by date range, practitioner, and case status.
  • Customer Reviews Download — export your Google review data for offline analysis or team performance reviews.
  • Patient Labels Report Download — generate and download patient label reports for administrative and compliance workflows.

All four reports are accessible from your Reports dashboard immediately. No setup required.

Recall Page Timezone Fix

We also resolved a timezone calculation issue affecting the next appointment date on the recall page. Clinics in UTC+8 and adjacent timezones will now see accurate recall dates across all patient records.

How Has Appointment Creation Improved?

Creating appointments for new patients is now faster and more intuitive. The updated workflow in the Appointment Scheduling module reduces the number of steps required when registering a first-time patient during booking. Front desk staff can now complete the process with fewer clicks, which is especially valuable during peak hours when every second counts.

Additionally, the surname field is no longer mandatory across the platform. This is a practical change for clinics in Southeast Asia where many patients use single names. Your team can now register patients without workarounds or placeholder data, keeping your records clean and accurate.

Platform Stability and Bug Fixes

This release also addresses several targeted fixes to improve day-to-day reliability:

  • E-Invoice panel billing — resolved an issue where e-invoice generation for insurance panel claims was not processing correctly. Panel clinics can now generate LHDN-compliant e-invoices for panel transactions without manual intervention.
  • Online booking reliability — fixed a bug that intermittently prevented patients from completing bookings through the online booking portal. Booking confirmations now process consistently.
  • Browser compatibility — corrected a tab navigation issue on macOS that affected users opening records in new browser tabs. Safari and Chrome workflows now behave as expected.
  • Patient list sorting — the patient list now sorts correctly across all filter and column combinations, ensuring your team can locate patient records quickly.

“We ship improvements every week because your clinic does not wait for quarterly release cycles. Every update is deployed automatically — no downloads, no downtime, no IT support needed.”

Why Do Weekly Updates Matter for Your Clinic?

Most clinic software providers release updates quarterly or annually. That means bugs persist, feature requests stack up, and your practice adapts to the software instead of the other way around. MedicalMet takes a different approach. We ship every week because we believe your clinic management system should evolve as fast as your practice does.

Every update is deployed automatically to all 3,000+ healthcare professionals who trust MedicalMet across Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. When your team logs in, the latest improvements are already live — that is our commitment to the clinics we serve.
